About Fung Mang Chung

Fung Mang Chung was born in 1990 and raised in Hong Kong. After received his BA (Fine Art) degree from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University in 2014, he is now undertaking an MA (Fine Art) degree in the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He took great interest in drawing at his young age and keep investigate what drawing and painting are meaning to him. Fung is always thinking out of the box and applying drawing methodology to different materials such as his wood carving work. 


Fung's works have been exhibited in various group shows in Hong Kong, he was picked and invited to participant the Fresh Trend 2014 Art Graduates Joint Exhibition, and more recently a solo exhibition at Kong Art Space. He was the winner of the 2014 Australia China Arts Foundation Award.


In Fung's creation, it is a self-examination as well as a way to understand himself. He believes his direction of life could be guided by self-confrontation. As Heidegger said, there is no absolute distance between our lives and us. We are our life, and the lucidity of our life is the nature of it.
